MIRE - The Journey

The Journey is an immersive sound collage that uses modified samples and field recordings of water, wind, forests, birds, industrial halls and creaking old wood, telling the story of a character that's being embodied by the listener through the sound of the footsteps present throughout the whole album. These footsteps take the character through different land(sound)scapes that evoke a series of internal experiences - from tension and anticipation, to sadness, joy and contentment, gripping fear, overwhelm and finally serenity.
